The Sydney Roosters have announced their senior representative teams for this Saturday’s clashes with the Illawarra Steelers in Wollongong.

NSW Cup Team (Round 6):

Roosters NSW Cup Coach Brett Morris has named his side for Saturday’s clash with St George Illawarra in Wollongong.

Kyron Fekitoa (hamstring) and Max McCathie (concussion) are both out but the Roosters are boosted by the return from pre-season injuries for NRL development players Reece Foley (ankle) and Xavier Va’a (knee). Also returning to the side, after missing last week, are fullback Ethan King and interchange prop Aholoka Toia.

In the backline Chad Townsend will play half back, with Jake Elliott moving to five eighth and Josh Durkin returning to the Jersey Flegg Cup team, whilst Ethan King returns from illness with Owen Flaherty moving to the bench, replacing Turoa Williams who is named as 18th man for Saturday.

In the forwards Ethan Roberts, after his fine game last Sunday, takes McCathie’s starting lock spot, whilst Toia replaces Roberts on the bench. Reece Foley plays his first game of the year, replacing the injured Fekitoa, whilst Xavier Va’a’s return comes at the expense of Lafi Tiunauvai, who moves to an extended bench alongside Williams and Vito Tevaga.

Jersey Flegg Cup Team (Round 6):

Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup Coach Dean Feeney has named his side for Saturday’s clash with St George Illawarra in Wollongong.

In the centres Jonti Morshead-Feidel comes into the team for Cohen Dittman. Five eighth Josh Durkin returns from NSW Cup duty and takes over the captaincy, replacing Vincent Valentinetti as pivot. In the forwards Fanafou Seve, after impressing in his first three games for the club, moves into the starting prop position with Hayden Lammon returning to the bench. Julius Mitchell returns from suspension as the other starting prop, with Zac Visconti moving to lock to replace Jackson De Lisle.

Second rower Enzo Griffier and bench forward Cameron McKenzie have been left out, but their replacements are yet to be named.
