The Sydney Roosters extend their heartfelt congratulations to Club legend Jared Waerea-Hargreaves following the announcement that he will retire from professional rugby league at the end of the 2025 Super League season.

Waeera-Hargreaves’ contribution to the Roosters over 15 seasons (2010-2024) has left an indelible mark on the Club’s history.

In 2024, he became the 50th NRL player to reach the 300-game milestone and concluded his Sydney Roosters playing career as the Foundation Club’s most-capped player (310 games).

In total, he played 316 NRL matches (six with Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, 2009), earning widespread respect for his style of play, leadership, and unwavering commitment to his teammates and the game throughout his career.

A cornerstone of the Roosters’ forward pack for more than a decade, Waerea-Hargreaves played a key role in the Club’s Premiership triumphs in 2013, 2018 and 2019 and played in four NRL Grand Finals (2010, 2013, 2018, 2019). He was also part of three World Club Challenge title-winning teams over this time (2014, 2019, 2020).

To date, he has played seven games in the 2025 Super League competition with current ladder leaders, Hull KR.

“As one of the most respected front-rowers of his generation, Jared completed his NRL career as a Sydney Roosters legend, and his impact on and off the field ensures a lasting legacy across the game of rugby league,” said Robinson.

“On behalf of his entire Roosters family, we congratulate Jared on an incredible rugby league career. There’s no doubt that Jared will continue to make a positive impact until the final whistle sounds, and we wish him all the very best for the remainder of his season,” he added.
